LINDA KERNS has been a member of Actors Co-op since 1993. During that time she has worn many hats at The Co-op, having appeared in
INTO THE WOODS (LA WEEKLY "BEST MUSICAL PERFORMANCE" NOMINATION), THE SPITFIRE GRILL, THE OCTETTE BRIDGE CLUB,
THE 1940’S RADIO HOUR, DAMN YANKEES!, SOMETHING’S AFOOT, SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM, DANCING WITH MY FATHER,
and most recently the critically acclaimed, NIBROC TRILOGY.
Behind the scenes work has included serving on the Production Committee, Musical Director for
SIDE BY SIDE…, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, the second go-‘round of 1940’s RADIO HOUR,
and last season’s highly successful ALL I REALLY NEEDED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN, which she also directed. At present,
you can see Linda in WICKED at The Pantages Theatre.
Linda wrote and directed one of our two one-act Christmas plays of the 2004-2005 season, THE WICKERSHAM’S CHRISTMAS EVE,
and also co-wrote DANCING WITH MY FATHER, as well as composing the original songs for that show.
In addition to her many Co-op projects, Linda has an extensive list of credits in both New York and Los Angeles, including the Broadway
productions of NINE: THE MUSICAL (original cast), BIG RIVER, the Los Angeles production of Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST,
The National Tour of LES MISERABLES, BANDIDO! (Mark Taper Forum), and the original Off-Broadway production of
SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN.
Her film and television work includes playing a “Lucy” in RAT RACE, the infamous
“frozen-eyeball-dead-Irish-gal” in TITANIC, CHRISTMAS WITH THE KRANKS, MRS. SANTA CLAUS (starring Angela
Lansbury), GEPETTO (starring Drew Carey), and episodes of WITHOUT A TRACE, NUMB3RS, ER, NYPD BLUE, THE GUARDIAN, and a bunch
more (We’d be here until 2010…)
In addition to directing “…KINDERGARTEN” for the Co-op, Linda has also directed productions of I DO! I DO!,
THE FANTASTICKS, THE TRIUMPH OF LOVE, and most recently Utah Musical Theatre’s production of TWO BY TWO.
In the land of Voice Acting, Linda has been fortunate to play various characters and sing various songs for films such as
THE LEGEND OF MULAN, ANNIE, HOME ON THE RANGE, and the upcoming ENCHANTED (a singing coakroach…really!)
As if all of this weren’t enough Linda teaches voice privately, and is a member of the singing faculty in the Theater,
Film and Television department at UCLA.
Once in a while she actually sleeps…oh yeah…and takes care of Spooky and Spike (her cats), and Freckle (the dog).
